An Exciting New Feature Update for WP Courseware!

WP Courseware NavigationNavigation is a critical component for any website.

And for online courses, it can often be the difference between presenting your material in a manner which effectively facilities the e-learning process or causing confusion and hindering a student’s progress.

We’ve had quite a few requests from our user community for additional navigation options within WP Courseware and we hear you loud and clear! Over the course of 2013, we’ll be releasing a number of updates which will provide better navigation capabilities within courses and between courses.

And today, we’re excited to announce the release of several updates to the WP Courseware course progress widget which we think you’ll love!

Without further ado, let’s dig in and see what’s new!

Dynamically Display a User’s Current Course

If you’re enrolling users for multiple courses, you’ll love this one. With the new WP Courseware course progress widget, you’ll have the ability to set the widget to display course navigation for the course the user is currently viewing. If you choose, you can still use multiple occurrences of the widget to display specific courses as well.

Choose the Number of Previous and Subsequent Modules to Display

This is another great update for those of you who have many modules within one course. You no longer need to display every single module in the widget and clutter up valuable sidebar real estate. Simply select the number of previous and subsequent modules you want to display in the course navigation widget, and the widget will dynamically display the appropriate modules.

Display Only a Specific Module

Want to limit the widget instance to one module only? No problem! We’ve added this feature as well.

Expand and Contract Units Within a Module

This is another new space-saving feature! You can now select whether or not you want to expand all of the units within modules or contract them all and require users to open an accordion style menu to access units within a module. We’re really excited about this one!

And of course the WP Courseware course progress widget still allows you to choose whether or not you want to display the course title, course description, and module descriptions.

How Do I Access These Cool New Features?
