A Wish for Your 2019…And a Few Last 2018 Updates

Wow…just wow! It’s hard to believe, but we’ve almost reached the end of another year! It’s been a busy year at Fly Plugins HQ…we’ve launched new plugins and integrations, made massive overhauls and updates to WP Courseware and S3 Media Maestro, and we have a few tricks up our sleeve for the new year! 🙂

As 2018 comes to a close, we wanted to share a few resources and updates which we hope you’ll find helpful.

It’s Gutenberg Time!

Well, it took waaaaaay longer than anyone expected, but the new visual, drag-and-drop, block-style editor for WordPress posts and pages (Gutenberg) has finally been sent out into the wild. If you’re interested in learning how to use Gutenberg to create pages and posts, checkout this comprehensive guide. We’ve been preparing for this transition for a while and our fearless lead developer, Cory, has worked his wizardry to ensure that both WP Courseware and S3 Media Maestro are fully compatible (and quite frankly, fun to use!) with the new Gutenberg blocks.

The Riches Are In The Niches

We state this again and again in our blog posts, videos, and consultations with our course creation clients…everyone is an expert at something! The problem is that far too many “would-be” successful course creators think that their idea wouldn’t translate into a successful online course which they could profit from. Well, recently Ben had a chance to sit down with Hope Bondurant who, along with her husband, used WP Courseware to transform their existing offline business designed to certify professional therapists in neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) into the world’s first online course in the field! And that move, which like most of our successful course creation clients likely had questions as to whether or not it would fly, has turned into a $700,000 a year business!

Setting Goals For 2019?

As we head into 2019, many of you likely have been working on setting your goals for the upcoming year and outlining what you want to accomplish. And it’s also likely that if you are preparing for any kind of personal or professional growth, some of those goals likely include increasing your income. We’re a bit biased, but since creating our first paid course in 2010 we’ve found that one of the best ways to generate passive income online, whether full-time or supplemental, is through course creation. Recently, Ben produced a new video on our YouTube channel outlining the top 7 reasons you should take action on your idea for an online course. Be sure to check it out and while you’re there, consider subscribing to our channel to be notified when helpful content is released!

And The Winner Is…

If you missed our announcements, last month Ben put together a promotional contest giving our amazing community the chance to win a “business in a box”. There were 17 different ways to submit an entry (Facebook “Like”, Twitter “Retweet”, etc.) and we randomly chose five winners to receive all three of our plugins (WP Courseware & S3 Media Maestro ), a 30-minute course creation consulting call, and a free WP Courseware t-shirt. And the winners! *Kurt K. *Cindy B. *Juan S. *Donny M. *Jim G.

And a huge thank you to everyone who participated!
